One Role, Two Brands: Driving Growth for Buck Buckley’s Basement & Roofing Divisions
During my time at Buck Buckley’s Total Basement Finishing and Klaus Roofing Systems by Buck Buckley, I served as the sole marketing assistant across both home service brands. Driving growth through targeted campaigns, content creation, and lead generation strategies. From managing social media and email marketing to designing sales collateral and optimizing web content, I helped elevate brand visibility and support sales across two distinct customer journeys. Working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, I learned to wear multiple hats, track results, and execute high-impact marketing that connected with homeowners and converted.

Challenge
Working across two growing home service brands within a small business environment came with its share of unique challenges. Resources were limited, requiring creativity and efficiency in both strategy and execution. The contractor space was highly competitive, with dozens of companies vying for the same local homeowner leads, making brand differentiation critical. Marketing efforts had to navigate seasonal fluctuations, pricing constraints, and frequent shifts in internal structure and priorities. Despite these hurdles, I focused on building agile campaigns, creating consistent messaging, and developing tools that supported both sales and office support staff.
Results
My efforts across both Buck Buckley’s Total Basement Finishing and Klaus Roofing Systems delivered meaningful, measurable results that elevated the brands and supported business growth. Key accomplishments include:
Increased social media engagement and follower growth through consistent, value-driven content.
Built and launched seasonal campaigns tailored to homeowner needs and peak service windows.
Created branded sales collateral that improved in-home close rates by approximately 12%.
Supported digital marketing initiatives on META (Facebook/Instagram), helping nurture leads and reduce funnel drop-off.
Enhanced overall brand perception with cohesive messaging and professional design across all channels.
Led the design and coordination of tradeshow events, strengthening local brand presence and outreach.
Developed and maintained branding standards from scratch, including full brand guideline documents for both companies.
Contributed to winning the Spark BBB Award for Entrepreneurship, awarded to the owner during my time with the company.
These results reflect more than just outputs. They represent a strategic, hands-on marketing approach that helped two small businesses stand out in a crowded, competitive industry.

2023 BBB Spark Award Winner
In 2023, I took the initiative to nominate our owner for the BBB Spark Award for Entrepreneurship, recognizing his commitment to ethical business practices and community leadership. I researched and authored the full nomination, highlighting the company’s values, growth, and impact under his guidance. When he was selected as a winner, I also produced and edited the official acceptance video shown at the lunch ceremony. I captured the heart of the business and its mission. It was a full-circle marketing moment that combined storytelling, strategy, and creative execution to celebrate a well-deserved win.
Putting A Klaus On God's House
As part of a large roofing project for a local church, I produced two customer testimonial videos that showcased Klaus Roofing’s craftsmanship and community involvement. I used drones and professional camera rigs to capture the scope of the work, followed by sit-down interviews with the church’s Pastor and his assistant, Wendy. Their genuine feedback—especially the Pastor’s memorable line, “Putting a Klaus on God’s House”—helped establish trust. The videos received positive press and became key assets in the sales process, regularly shown to prospective customers to reinforce credibility and close deals.
“ Working with Lucas has been such a pleasure. He is motivated, determined, and creative in his marketing endeavors. Seeing him so invested in making the best of his role, from asking questions to strategizing and thinking outside of the box, is inspiring and contributes so much to the way we think, learn, and grow as an overall team. Grateful for Lucas and his hard work! ”
