Best Super Bowl Ads of All Time - With Some Honorable Mentions

As one of the largest sporting events of the year, the Super Bowl is known for attracting a massive audience and the best of the best when it comes to advertisements. The commercials that air during the game are highly anticipated and widely talked about. Here are my top five Super Bowl commercials of all time.

1) Coca-Cola "Hey Kid, Catch!" (1979)

This classic commercial features Pittsburgh Steeler's defensive tackle "Mean" Joe Greene tossing his jersey to a young fan in exchange for a Coke. The ad is memorable for its heartwarming message and the instantly recognizable tagline, "Hey kid, catch!" The commercial has been widely considered one of the greatest Super Bowl ads of all time and is still remembered by fans to this day.

2) Apple "1984" (1984)

Apple's iconic "1984" commercial is a true classic. The ad features a dystopian world controlled by a large, imposing figure known as "Big Brother." The commercial ends with a runner throwing a hammer through the screen, symbolizing the revolutionary impact the Macintosh computer would have on the world. The commercial was highly innovative and ahead of its time, and it remains one of the most talked-about Super Bowl ads to this day.

3) Budweiser "Whassup?" (1999)

Budweiser's "Whassup?" commercial was a true cultural phenomenon. The ad features friends making phone calls to each other and saying "Whassup?" as a greeting. The commercial was widely imitated and became a popular catchphrase, making it one of the most memorable Super Bowl ads ever.

4) Volkswagen "The Force" (2011)

Volkswagen's "The Force" commercial is a true masterpiece of advertising. The ad features a young boy dressed as Darth Vader attempting to use "the Force" on various objects around the house. The commercial ends with the boy successfully using the Force on his father's Volkswagen Passat, much to the delight of the young Jedi. The commercial was a huge hit, and its imaginative and lighthearted tone made it one of the most memorable Super Bowl ads of all time.

5) Doritos "Crash the Super Bowl" (2010-2015)

For several years, Doritos ran a "Crash the Super Bowl" contest, inviting fans to create their own commercials for the snack food.
